The Support Teacher - Learning Difficulties (STLD) provides appropriate educational programs and resources for students who experience difficulties with learning which vary in cause, nature, intensity and duration.
The Support Teacher’s role is:
• to assess and evaluate students’ needs and to monitor their progress.
• to negotiate with class teachers the structure of the program provided.
• to provide support and advice to parents of students with learning difficulties.
• to provide a link between the school team and external support such as the Guidance Officer.
